Is it okay if I'm an ecolyte in the church, since the rules are never really enforced anyway?

Maria d J Gutierrez Posted Aug 25, 2000
what's an "ecolyte"? it sounds like work so i don't think i want to be one of those. what do you call the people who come in late and sit in the back pew and count the holes in the ceiling tiles? i think i want to be one of those people ('cept that in church the ceiling tiles are too far away so, as i humm unseasonalble hymns, i count the people in one pew and multiply by the number of pews and estimate the number of worshipers and whisper it to everyone near me).

1. i've noticed that big evil dan never speaks to me.
2. petunia, is that Enlish for "acolyte"? (i am in california where i am a native and i have been informed that i therefore don't speak "real" english and the spelling variances have me confused).
3. i called in sick today and got nothing done and i recommend it.

1. i've found that BED doesn't talk to me, either.
2. the previous 'either' was pronounced 'eyether', just to satisfy requirements of the Queen's English.
3. i called in sick yesterday, intending to clean my room, but due to an extended bout of laziness only managed to add two bowls and a soda bottle to the mess. hehehe.
4. BTW, BED! i applied a week ago, but still haven't been 'accepted'...? of course no rush! i'll just be here breathing (only as much as absolutely necessary) until you get around to it.

oooh. i like you! i added two bowls and a plate to the pile. i have to wash the frying pan because i only own one and i drank right from the milk carton so no glasses were used.

It's supposed to be acolyte; I spelled it wrong. That I did not do the simple work of checking my spelling indicates I belong in this church. I have only a vague idea of what an acolyte is, as doing research on it is too much work, but I know they assist priests.

1. Bono In Se: I'm talking to you now. If I haven't before, it's because I hit "Reply" to something someone else said, and then realized it was too much w*rk to remember what it was you said that I wanted to comment on. By the way, you can be the Official Weekendism Hole-Counter if you wish (although you may want to pick a better name.) In fact, anybody can choose an official-sounding title (except High Priest or a title higher than that) if they'd like.
2. Entity: I'm talking to you now as well, and looking through the backlog for your application is too much w*rk. If you haven't, as you say, been accepted, consider it done.
3. I DIDN'T call in sick yesterday, and had a bucket of water thrown at me. There's a lesson to learn from this.
4: Petunia: Being an acolyte is fine, and easy too. You just need to assist me in the no w*rk that I do.

ahhh... satisfaction!
so can i be uh.. erm... ah... lessee...
do you have an accountant? i can do that!
... ok, so i don't have the faintest idea what's involved with being an accountant, but how much do you need to know to put money in a sock and stuff it in your mattress? also, you know i won't embezzle cuz it's WAY too much effort- all that covering of tracks and sneaking and inventing lies... nope, too much effort!
my vow to you all: as your faithful accountant, i will approve all expenditures for domestic assistants (read: maids!)
hehehehe

I've said before that I'm opposed to titles....titles tend to imply some kind of responsibility. And we all know what happens when we take on responsibility...dont we?
ps. UNEMPLOYED IN 8 MORE DAYS!!!!!!

Kumabear anyone who has vistied my page knows this is no "title." i AM an electric monk. i just forgot is all but now i remembered. it had been botherig me for a few sundays now that i believe everything the Catholic Church tosses at me except for the loaves and fish. no problem with the walking on water, bringing back dead, virgin birth, or that the little bread is really the body o' Christ, yet they loose me with the fish. I also believe in reincarnation, horriscopes, ghosts, and extraterrestrials.

Okay, Dan, I have to ask. Why did you have water thrown at you while at work? And why is there "Evil" in your name? Are the two things related?
