There was a tag or link that allowed you to see who was reading an entry, it must have been something to the search engine

Anyway anyone know of such a link smiley - smiley

You mean the viewer tag? That is only visible to whoever looks at the page, not to anybody else.

Bob, I'm collecting h2g2 citations, if that's what you mean.

These are entries which have been used as references in published works outside of h2g2, and acknowledged as such. I've found about 320 so far, and I'm currently writing a Post article about the latest ones.

The list of citations is here: A46972182

There are probably many more instances where our entries have been plagiarised and we haven't been credited. Both Big Al and I have found the Daily Mail stealing our work. These are less easy to find, of course.

Hi Bob, smiley - smiley

I use Google Scholar, Google Books, and some subscription services I have access to as a student (like Nexus, Science Direct, etc). Sadly, many of the published items aren't available in full on-line, and Google Scholar/Books can often only give you a very restricted search regarding the context in which the citation is used.

Have you tried typing your A-numbers into Google Web search? That often picks up interesting things, and may well find a few published citations that are available in full online.

How do you find out if someone has used your work? I found the relevant entry on google that I was looking for, its an old entry of mine from years ago. How do you find out who? and what happens if they have used just sections of your work? how do we find out? If interested the entry number is A863110 The Effects of the Myxoma Virus on the South Downs. This looks like it could develope into an interesting thread.
