I'm not sure yet.
Right now, I'm gonna have to vote for Anette Bening. Not only was she good in American Beauty, but she has good taste in husbands.
But, I haven't seen Boys Don't Cry yet. It looks like Hilary Swank did a real good job, so I might have to change my vote.
Is that ok, can I change it if I want?

I wanted to honour the fantastic 'Dogma' in some way, and here I get a chance. Ms. Benning was fantastic in A.B. (I fall about every time I think of "f**k me your majesty!"), but I thought that Linda Fiorentino was terrific in 'Dogma', which I thought was a very under-rated film altogether. As good as the superb 'Chasing Amy', if not better.

Phew! I thought you were going to say Salma Hayek. I can't stand her, although I did like her in Dogma.
And, I agree that Dogma should be recognized, I do not agree with you about Chasing Amy.

Poor Meryl... that movie was crap, and she certainly doesn't deserve an Oscar for her role.
Julianna Moore was good, but I'm afraid that she's no Annette Benning. Her role was superb! Anyone that watches the end of that movie and doesn't want to hand it over to her is one sorry, sick puppy.

Anette Bening.
Any actress that can make me feel sympathy for estate agents deserves an Oscar.

God, wish I could see American Beauty it would make this so much easier. As things stand I'm leaning towards Toni Colette in the Sixth Sense cos she's the only actress this year to make me cry and it takes someone really good to do that!
