I wish I was tall people
The Fang Posted Sep 27, 2000
House ! I'm lanky, baldy AND have aquidextrous fingers. Us bass players need to be lanky - that way people can see our expressionless faces over the front line...grim concentration...

In case anyone's still subscribed to this - all the double bass players I know tend to be around the sub-5ft mark...
...or is that just because most double bassists I know are jive/rock'n'roll types, and all 50's retro-double bassists happen to be short...
For you information, all the bass-guitarists I know confirm to the tall them of this thread - maybe the two cancel...if any sociologists out there would like to study the demographics of height of bass players against musical genre

My point being the jump-jive/r'n'r double bassists I know being around the sub 5' mark
Obviously I'm far too tall to follow that route, hence my wearing high heels in an attempt to fit in with the 4 string guitarists
