That's gone right over my head.

Our heat has been caused by very strong high pressure systems that stubbornly stick around. We get more heat this week. with triple digit temperatures expected mid-week. My guess is that it's going to be humid as well, meaning less fire danger. but more misery for me.

It was a joke picture I had been sentshowing a chicken and a egg in bedthe chicken with a cigarette in it's mouth -
I can't describe any further I might get "yiped"

Lil has been granted a certain disability grant but! "they" have stopped short of giving her the "mobility allowance" to attain a car saying - She'd not enough points on the system needed

Which she got before

Bureaucracy at its finest!!

Can she appeal the decision??

Unfortunately noit'd take that long to sort out and as the old saying goes, she could lose out on the swings, against the roundabouts
so accept what is "offered" as such

That's too bad.

She could use the help. I know she doesn't like going out much, but she needs to, so she's hurt in many ways by this.

It hurts me
some of my close friends, who deserve "things" are denied themwhen those THAT don't deserve get them

It's just more of the same, mate.
Some things don't really ever change.

On my side of the Pond, things are also looking grim. Infection and hospitalization rates are climbing, and here in Los Angeles, we just experienced a pair of probable super-spreader events, celebratory riots in response to championship victories by our major league basketball and baseball teams.
Also, many fans were gathered in homes, no masks, no distancing.
*shrug*

My response? As usual, stay in my room, go out only when absolutely necessary. I think that's going to be my plan for the rest of this year. It's going to be a very bumpy ride from here on in, I'm afraid, with the election and other possible causes of civil unrest close at hand. I also think that All Hallows Eve may be a time when the unhinged and truly evil among us may decide to make themselves known. Hopefully parents will make wise choices regarding what they allow their children to do tomorrow night.

I made plans for getting exercise in my house when it became too cold and wintery outside. That's how I got my exercise today. The inside length of my hallway is forty feet. I made 140 round trips. 6,600 feet is a bit more than a mile.

I've a neat little walking route in my neighborhood that I'm starting to use again, and as things have started cooling off a bit I'll be doing much more yard work from now to next Summer.
I really need to start shedding some of the COVID19 weight I've gained. It's much too much.

It gets into the high sixties here yesterday and today. Inside my house, it's almost eighty.
