One word explains it, bandwidth. Or more precisely , the rapidly diminshing size of it. A telephone line is a very in-efficient way of accessing the internet.
We will see the day of a fibre optic internet connection priced for personal use, IMHO.

Hi Pedboy, Well it was my old moniter that was packing up on me but now I have a brand new 17" one with a better picture than I get on my TV
, and twice as many buttons

Afraid not!! Its a massive big one! thats why I got it cheaper as everyone is buying flat ones. I am happy with it all anyway

Unfortunately in order to fit keyboard, monitor, mini-speakers, TV, system box, cordless phone, broadband modem and copy of 'The Fifth Elephant' on my desk I had to go flatscreen.
