I'm also a Thingite, a Zaphodista, and the Keeper of Boots, Small Furry Tailed Monkey Creatures Named After Vegetables With Strange Hairstyles, and the Shift Key (although that hasn't been approved yet).


So, according to that lot, I'm a geeky Nethack-playing boot-monkey-and-shift-keeping anti-Thurs researcher.


So, what you're probably wondering is, who is this? How dare they barge into the No No No thread and act like they own the place? Why do I keep having to use 'they' because I can't remember their name? WHO - ARE - THEY?

Well, first of all, I ain't a they. I'm a me. That's a fundamental key to me-ness, being me. I'm sure you know what I mean, dear fellow Thingite.

Next, I shalt tell thee how I came to become. Become a Thingite, that is... but truly, before I discovered thee, Thingites, I was not born.

Twas a cold and dull evening... I had been heard earlier that day to refer to it as Thurs. Twill not happen again. Twas a cold Thing evening (truly! Twas my first Thing!) twas the last day of the last month of sun of the last year of non-Thingiteness, my friends, the XXXI day of the VII month of the year MMIII, and a lonely human sat on a lonely planet in a lonely spiral arm of a lonely galaxy.

This human was, as you might imagine, sitting and listening to the rain. (And the dog, which was snoring.) At least, the human was led to believe it was rain. The human seldom ventured outside. It found nothing friendly out there, on the cold Thing evenings.

Then the human clicked on a link.

That link read 'No no no!!'.

And the human's life was changed forever.

The human realised that truly, it was born to be a Thingite. It had forever referred to Sodit by its true name. It had observed the true purpose of Dontbry - dedicating the greatest of all days to not doing homework, not walking the dog and not paying attention to the universe in general.

The human knew that here...

Here, at last...

Were people just like it.

The Thingites.

My brethren, my kin.

Go forth, my brothers, with your titanium s... let's not give 'em Hell.
