DD this card is from all of us to you, nearly fatally poisoned and languishing in the ICU.
Bloody clever way to dodge a raging ping-pong match of a campaign, I'd say!

DD, I was mortified to hear of your recent mishap and hope you get well soon. Here's some light reading for you.

GRAVE NEW WORLD
Researchers say Japan's tradition of having grandmothers help care for a newborn preserves a decentralized hospital system blamed for a relatively high mortality rate among pregnant women.
The nation's maternal mortality rate of 9.5 per 100,000 births in 1991-92 was 16 percent higher than the comparable rate in the United States and three times Canada's rate, not including deaths attributed to fast food toy choking incidents.
Many of the deaths were attributed to mistakes the grandmothers made during post-natal care, like wrapping the baby in seaweed, and smearing it with wasabi.
"Inadequate obstetric and anesthetic services and laboratory facilities are associated with maternal mortality in Japan," said study author Ken Nagaya, of the Rural Sayama Health Center in Saitawa, Japan, which operates on the side of a hill with a 90-quart cauldron and a magical donkey.
Nagaya wrote, "Frequently, one physician takes care of all outpatients and inpatients, including deliveries 24 hours per day, 365 days per year, all the while performing traditional dance performances involving poisonous fish to appease the bird-gods.
