Yes, I could use everyone's help getting this place square again, but before you polish the worktops, could you turn them the right way up please?
As for special food events, we had a St Patrick's Day Irish special in March. At the moment is exam and report stress food - lots of jaffa cakes and plenty of healthy energy providing well balanced nice appetising food. Any other specials required?
Most of the time what is served in here is the special of the day or any previous special of the day from previous servery threads. Items may be requested, but we may ask you to fetch any unusual ingredients first. At the moment, for this very reason, we cannot have my special plum cobbler, the plain stuff yes, but not the special one. If it is something I don't eat, extra persuasion may also be required.
Oh, and I noticed you didn't find my stash of special gourmet French hot chocolate (sent by my brother who lives in Montpelier). In fact, how could you make hot chocolate with hot water?!!!
Better remedy that.
*gets out large pan and pours in milk, when milk halfway to boil adds generous quantity of what looks like and is pure powdered chocolate, brings to boil, stirring well, adds some secret ingredient, takes off stove and pours into mugs, spoons in dessert spoon of home made chocolate and cointreau ice cream and tops with cream, chocolate powder and cinnamon*
here, try this.. *hands round C(_)s*
PS, Fish, if you want Menza to get the Red out, you'd better be aware that Kitty usually sleeps down in the cellar and he doesn't like distrubing, and as for the tentacle... it hasn't been out for a while, I think it might be planning an attack

SIGH
*places C(_) and counter and sadly sits in the corner*

Thanks for the hot chocolate, it smells great. I'm highly impressed, but then the french do seem to have a knack with chocolate, don't they, speaking as someone who used to live there.
As for the kitchen, just tell me what to do and I'll be more than willing to lend a hand!

Menza, why are you sad? Is there anything we can do???
Cake and pub food - the servery part 5
AEndr, The Mad Hatter Posted Jun 11, 2000
Menza's sad because I added milk to the chocolate and he cannot drink it.
I'm sorry, Menza, I forgot. I have just got back from a very tiring and hectic weekend in Norfolk and a long train journey, but that isn't really an excuse.
*puts hot water on stove and makes hot chocolate in a similar manner, but this time adding different secret ingredients that do not contain milk but do give good texture*
would you like a chocolate sorbet added instead of the ice cream and cream?
Cake and pub food - the servery part 5
Menza Posted Jun 11, 2000
Thats OK, I was being melodramatic.
Thanks for the healthier version, and I think the chocolate sorbet would be over doing it.

*gratefully accepts a c(_) of hot chocolate, holds it a little awkwardly to avoid his left thumb* Ohhh that's good

OH thankyou, it's been a long day, what's the best beverage here, we have trouble making up our minds sometimes. It's all her fault, she's so picky.
AM NOT!!
Yes you are, no shut up or you will frighten the good people...

Hello Agnes, some people thought you might be me, but you're not, for which I am not sorry [see hunt for alter egos at the h2g2 bloodhounds at http://www.h2g2.com/A328475, though the page is a tad out of date]
the best drink in the servery is hot chocolate with cointreau, though in the bar you will be advised to take up more alcoholic beverages.
I'll make you a hot chocolate if you like, though I am on strike so there's no chocolate fudge cake to accompany it.

hoorah! Someone else has the same view as me, I don't eat meat but would be more likely to if I knew they were only killing happy animals who'd had good lives but if the animals are sad then you can't eat them . . . I think I may know why people think my concept of vegetarianism is slightly strange I feel it could be in my explanation . . . anyway, I'm glad to have found someone else with the same view as normally when I explain I keep being told that if the animals are sad then we should put them out of their misery and it's beginning to get annoying
