I am apparently not the only one that ran into this trouble when logging in

I switched browsers to IE and googled h2g2 to find a way here

Cloudflare serves up cached pages for us, but sometimes, even that fails. This may happen when the servers nearest to you are overloaded, for example. Usuall, it's not the h2g2 servers that have problems, as I understand it.
If the problem persists, we are happy that you log it. Normally, it should clear in a quarter of an hour, is my estimate from my own experience.

I too was on firefox

I was "stopped" from logging in to hootoo by this pop-up, was it a hootoo glitch ? or something on my side of the internet ?

It has been nine hours. I just tried it on foxfire and got the same message.

I have bugged tech about this, but there is usually not much we can do, since the site is accessible via other browsers.

I got this last night (Firefox, Goo). I got the script error when trying to get to my MP page but everything else was accessible. It cleared after about an hour but it's back again this morning. I've just noticed that the bookmark I used for my MP page is wsogmm.h2g2.com, but if I take the wsogmm out and use www it works just fine.

Nope, forget that, it seems completely random

wsogmm shouldn't really be used these days, in fact you should be fine with just http://h2g2.com.

If you're still getting problems, can you let us know?

We are having quite a few reports of instability these days.

Ripley is in poor shape, and it is not possible to correct. We hope to bring all the old looks (skins) into Pliny, but our tech volunteers already have full time jobs, so it's difficult to say when this will happen.

Pliny sometimes has problems too, some are intermittent, and we can't always reproduce them to correct. When they are possible to reproduce we can usually find a correction.

But again, our volunteers have day jobs too.

In order to reproduce, please note your browser and skin, and what the issue is - "My message section on my PS is not displayed in Brunel, using Firefox" is easier to check than "h2g2 is acting up"

Just an add on, I can't get into my PS in Alabaster on Vista, been going on since all the problems above. I get the 'an error occurred' and occasionally the same screen as above with strings!

I can work around with links but perhaps I need to move skins for a while?
