Thanks to Ops for posting this announcement for us 
Not sure I'd call it an elephant, but it was a puzzle to us that some people commented they were disappointed that there was nothing new in h2g2 while others commented they were impressed by how much new content there is in h2g2 each week.
We had a think about reasons for the discrepancy, and it seemed possible it was related to people logging into their Personal Space to find what's new, rather than visiting the Front Page. Past subscriptions may no longer be delivering new content as expected, so the Help Page aims to help people to make changes if necessary.
We learned a few tricks from the exercise, so we hope it helps others too

My disappointment is not at the quantity of new material being published, but the fact that it is almost impossible for a new writer to contribute to the site, since the system is so full of bugs.
Even reasonably experienced writers encounter bugs where all their work disappears. It is only the people like Bluebottle and Dmitri who use it every day can master the different skins and navigate their way around the pitfalls.
I suggested solutions to some of these bugs in March 2016 and was assured many times they'd be looked at, but nearly two years has gone by and there's still no sign of anybody having tried them out.

One thing that's annoying me is the appearance of an advert that's an obvious scam. 
It's from Prizes world and reads 'This is not a joke!1,000,000 visitor. Our random winners selection system could choose you to win AN APPLE PRODUCT. Be our lucky winner!
Can we do anything about these?
