I see loads of sellers with dozens, if not hundreds of one-off random items from camera lenses to watches and random brick-a-brack and accessories. How do they get these items- I can understand re-sellers who buy quantities of one item at a good price and sell it on for a profit, but random individual items? Is it just a case of selling each thing for a bit more than they got it for on the same ebay platform or is their something more clever than that going on?

Likely they're going to one of those stores that dumps returned items for sale as is. I've only seen videos of these stores and it just doesn't look like someplace I want to go. Basically, through out the day the crew in the back goes through a whole trailer load of items returned to Amazon or some other E-tailers and prices these items very cheap. Then they take them and dump them into bins and customers rifle through them looking for anything that they think they might want or might want to resale. My understanding has always been that ebay sellers go to estate sales, stuff that is left behind when someone dies.

Ah but the examples I'm thinking of are mostly all new and boxed stuff. Feedback indicates that most people are happy with the goods. Aye used stuff I can well imagine where they come from, but one-off items still shrink wrapped and with full warranties?

I think also you can buy boxes of undelivered packages with hit and miss results. I suppose the contents of those packages would end up on Ebay.
