This one probably from the psychedelic days of the late 60's.

I have a vague idea that a section of the lyric goes

".....sky
when the wind is high. When the wind is high".

The start (I think) has some electronic keyboard playing a steady 2 bars of a single chord (in 4/4 time?) before the lyric comes in.

The song has 2 styles within it. The verse and the chorus are quite different, the verse being sort of spaced out - LSD sounding, and the chorus slightly more up-tempo and less psychedelic sounding.

Heeeeelp please! It's driving me nuts (as the man with a steering wheel sticking out of the front of his trousers said to his doctor).

The first thing that came to mind was 'Sky High' by Manfred Mann's Earth Band.

Just one minor problem - it's instrumental smiley - blush

Definitely not a Beatles song. I meant to mention that.

Possibly influenced by them.

And not an instrumental unless it had some exceedingly clever guitar going on.....

Oh, the power of Hootoo.

Thank you Paul. It's exactly that one.

Now to track down a Simon Dupree and the Big Sound CD.

You can call me TC

Oh yes, now you mention it... I found I could sing along to most of it. The version wasn't familiar though. Was there another recording perhaps slightly later? I would have been in the 3rd form in 1967, not sure if I already had my own radio in those days....

Good spot, Paul!

I do remember that one - I'm sure I've heard it on Sounds of the Sixties.
