h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Unfortunately, courtesy of DWP, I couldn't attend the IhM 2014. (International h2g2Meet to us mere researchers!)

But I did suggest a possible Nodno; Meet in September for which there has been significant interest.

Well, two researchers to date. Possibly three.

My suggested dates are either the weekend of the 20th or the weekend of the 27th.

Planning is at an early stage.

I.e. non-existant. The Saturday evening venue is fixed (because I can use it) and exciting daytime activities are planned (any suggestions welcome) and also whether a pre-meet meet may be required.

Spread the word by any social media method available and I'll work on the feedback.

Btw, I'd like it to be open to researchers and other Froods too, if they wish to attend, unless you feel otherwise.

Where exactly is the venue site? Can you recommend a good local hotel? Not looking for 5 stars or anything, but some place better than the local mission.

Location is London but no specifics currently. The evening venue will be Shakespeare's Head, Kingsway, London, in Holborn, close to Holborn Station.

If you are prepared to, I live in Brentford, less than a mile from Kew Gardens, and there are a number of Accor hotels locally that aren't overly pricy for London, although a number of hootooers have used Premier Inn, Southwark on previous Meets. Otherwise there are a number of hostels/b&b's around Victoria or Bayswater but none I particularly am aware of. Happy to be a London Guideif you do visit and stay around Brentford/Kew/Hounslow/Hammersmith. Only date I'm not free is Friday 26th as I'll be at the Natural History Museum for Europe's Open Museum Day/Evening, unless you'd like to attend.
