Typical of the BBC she wanted to make a haggis but Marcus said too much health and safety stuff about animal bits put the kibosh on that.

A re-recorded Paul Temple Mystery. Recorded with 'original' microphones etc to give it the 1950s feel.

It's Sunday morning and I am looking forward to Cerys Matthews on 6music. I love her voice and her amazing knowledge and choice of music. Except when she plays jazz.

I'd like to have been able to say The World Today on the BBC World Service. But I can't 'cause some fool took an axe to it.
I don't if the fault of the government dumping the funding of TWS on the Beeb or just new generation of management that don't value standards in broadcasting.
What I did enjoy was Dilema http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b01qwglw/Dilemma_Series_2_Episode_2/ with the wonderful Sue Perkins.

Just listened to Liff at 30 on iplayer. Brilliantly funny.
Did anyone catch the name of 'the spooky feeling that someone is about to explain Deja Vu to you'? It sounded like Learno to me, but I'm not entirely sure.

I must hunt it down and listen to it again; I only half listened to the first bit of it as I was doing something else...
Today, the repeat of the Now Show was rather good as useual, even though I partially heard it last night, whilst making dinner...

Thanks, quotes, that sounds about right. It stuck a chord with me, mainly due to a certain thread hereabouts.

I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised. When I looked at Alfster's link from 5 days ago the description of the production sounded like Dirk's work. I was looking for his name, but couldn't see it.
I wrote an entry on Dirk Maggs a few years ago. It could probably do with an update now.

I just have to mention this drama here. Lovely script, had me laughing at the sharply portrayed characters. Proper northern accents.

Peter Tinniswood - Call It a Canary
bbc blurb "The end of the '60s - Carter's wife has left him, but can he stand the pace of his new life of freedom? Part of Tinniswood's 'Brandon Family' series. Stars Philip Jackson."
4 days left to listen, and I might very well have to listen to it again,

On a long business trip recently I tuned to Radio 3 for comp0any, and was introduced to Dvorak's Noonday Witch.
This brought to mind a Shakespeare quote - "tush tush, fear boys with bugs!". It tells the story of a mother trying to make her children behave with stories of a witch who only appears between 11 am and 12 noon. And you can guess what happens next!
