Where IS mu beta, doesn't he know it's the first semi final tonight?
I've only just got in, saw the Cyprus bevy of beyond-alikes, dais favourite so far ( yes I know they're the first act we've seen)
Denmark - nah even a xylophone can't save this boring dirge.
The Russian grannies, dressed in red tablecloths and coin necklaces- excellent, they've made buns while they've been singing. I have to admit I rather like this!

Hungary- now I quite like this sexy black leather clad bunch of cool nerds, but it's too slow and in a minor key so not a winner.
Austria- gangsta tractor rap. With a pole dancer. The lyrics are.....erm....interesting. Oopswardrobe malfunction! Sorry, not from the pole dancers, only a baseball cap.
Moldova- usually good for a laugh, this is very musical theatre

TThey need to work on their stage act... well, their costumes... naked would make so much more sense...
My moneys on Greece winning, just because it'd be so funny to see how they could try and host it with, one pressumes, an availible fund of zero

Sorry folks. And I'm going to miss Saturday as well, due to the UK Games Expo.
I do have a pound each-way on the three Baltic States at odds between 75-1 and 125-1, though.

I thought the venue was with the changing flag colours.
Cyprus was nicely choreographed and the grannies were different

Yes Baku have recognised this opportunity to show themselves on the world stage, and the venue looks absolutely magnificent

I'll be watching it with my bestie in London. Shall I/we attempt to do a write-up for ThePost, not that it'll be as worthy as a MuBeta reort.....

I'll be sitting down to watch it with about a dozen of my mates (not all the same sofa, I hasten to point out). And drink heavily, of course.

Anybody else think that Engelbert Humpydinger might stand a chance?

I've not actually heard the song, which I always think counts for more than people give the competition credit for. Sure, the politics gets involved - I doubt Greece will get anywhere near this year - but the song itself is important too.
I'll be happy with the British entry as long as we don't finish in the embarrassing bottom ranks. Top 10 would be nice.

The UK entry is ok . But for Eurovision? maybe because it´s quite different to the others... could have a chance.
I think the music is too fluffy and the voice could have more strength. I don´t expect Humpydinger gets dressed as Liberace, but a bit of colour it´s always nice to watch.
and that hairstyle!!!

Serbia- plaintive folky intro, handsome chap, bit like gino daccamp the jungle chef, they've raided the unusual wind instruments store,
Fyrom- Kate omara doing a bit of vibrato, before moving into a rock vibe
Netherlands- Dutch girl inan Indian headdress, playing her guitar rather badly, though she has a dolores oriordan yodel and a cute smile

Beatrice Posted May 24, 2012
Malta- very tricksy footwork going on here! I feel they've thrown a few off the shelf features in here- femal drummer, somersaulting dancer, dj with the hands up
Belarus- dai reckons this is the winner. He's usually right. You heard it here first. It's got metalwork, a little elf hobbit singer, song
would play well at gay clubs

Portugal- shiny dress with thigh splt. I'm dozing off here.
Ukraine- might be a bloke in those tassels, but I like the colourful backing trumpeters
Bulgaria- the thigh high boots have got some attention here, I'm struggling to discern a tune in this wail
