alabaster is the only skin to hoover in For if not as we view, through the support of the skin we use, were it then, not as often, lest for itself unbiden, to render all but, that not of which, as such, not quite something entirely differnt. probably.

If our eds and Gurus are working on barlesque I'm amazed we haven't had them collapsing from mental breakdowns

Brunel has rivets and looks like a LMS trainset, so I want to say it's the most manly, functional, and downrights lovely

I´m a Brunelita since I came here,
isn´t it that the default skin?
if not, Destiny made it for me, and happy I am.

I am very adverse to speaking to someone in any language other than that which I always used with them (Bel is an exception, I converse with her in either language as required).
To me, using another skin is as radical as using another language. So, as Goo was the only option when I joined up and I soon learned to converse in it, I like to think I'm talking to you all in Goo. If I used the Brunel skin, it would be like you all suddenly started talking to me in Klingon. Alabaster feels weird and new-fangled, too, but I can't think of a suitable language analogy. I still haven't worked out what's old fashioned about any of them, but I don't use any other sites to compare. Who needs them? Hootoo eats up enough of my time as it is!
It's just occurred to me that the comments on the entries in h2g2 are discreet, but still there - not so in-your-face as, say, the comments on youtube. Nor are they so disorganised - they are, at least, loosely sorted into various threads. You might have to point them out to someone new to the site (maybe even to Stephen Fry) but once they are found, they enhance the entries considerably. That non seqitur occurred to me because someone mentioned "comments" above.

Well Calvin is certainly easier to spell. It also sounds less likely that scantily dressed ladies are involved, though there may be a greater risk of tigers.

So as well as Rivetheads and Alabasterds the place is soon going to be full of Calvinists? How will this affect the Dawkins thread?
