Maybe my memory is faulty then, I don't want to argue with those guys.

But yes, an amazing quote, beautifully delivered by Angelica Houston.

No, it's far more likely to be "respect" - much more of a punch to the first punchline and therefore much more of a punch to the second.

I'll re-watch it over Christmas, perhaps, and see.

For me, that exchange encapsulates all sorts of things about hypocricy, stereotypes, sexuality, honesty and the evil of pink.

OTOH, the Munsters had two freaky cars, the "Munster Koach" and "Drag-u-la," both courtesy of George Barris.

Question: How do I put in emoticons? I only just came back to this site after notice of the sale and I'm lost.

Use angle brackets, so < vampire > without the gaps is smiley - vampire. Punctuation works too so : - ) without the gaps is smiley - smiley. There is a full list of the smileys if you follow the link below the posting box

Not a cheap copy, a different vision entirely.

The Munsters tried to fit in the conventional suburban world around them, and the gags were all about how they really couldn't.

The Addams Family created their own reality. The gags were all about how they turned convention on its head. If someone else couldn't fit in, too bad for them but there was plenty of room in the family plot.

Yep. Definitely Addams Family. I enjoyed watching the Munsters but it wasn't nearly as dark and twisted as the Addams Family. I've got a collection of Charles Addams comics and some of them are quite dark. Some of Pugsley and Wednesday's antics cause grievous bodily harm or possibly death. The Munsters humor was all based on the premise that they didn't know that they were monstrous. It's more juvenile.

Now, if you want to read some truly dark comics, find some of Edward Gorey's work. I'm very fond of The Beastly Baby. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fzJAU3KDIdg
