Should these extremists be allowed into the country?

Post 221

Peanut

This is a polite request, you both have personal spaces here, if you wish to continue to argue could you take it there please rather than disrupt this thread which is for everyone.

You are both welcome here but argueing in threads like this won't be well tolerated smiley - cheers

Hi Peanut, it's a bit nippy here. My parents will be coming over
from Spain tomorrow and will go to the Rugby League Challenge Cup at
Wembley on Saturday. I'll be travelling down to Herne Bay later in
the week for the Herne Bay festival as well as meeting up with
relatives and then my parents later on. I deal with students
all the time smiley - smiley

Dear sweet Robert tries to be serious: I know for a long? by August 15!
Instead you are very fun with all your arrogance toward me suddenly. Who would you contact? Please try to be consistent. You're the one that does not correct the post.

Barbara, do you remember these two posts?

""So, I was wrong with each tense."

Time is growing short; keep writing here. Study your tenses and see how they are used, the simple and the perfect tenses."

Leaving, Barb, see you tomorrow."

They speak for themselves.

Crikey, what a mess of a thread smiley - headhurts

Nice to know that Robert knows BARBARA from elsewhere. He's still being rude though, or maybe snide is a better word.

As an American citizen I don't think they should be allowed in my own country, but I certainly wouldn't wanna pass them on to any other countries either. In any case they will put up a big show about it one way or another, just where it's at will be the key thing.

>>...yes they have rights but they are clearly just
trouble-makers out to peddle crude anti-homosexual
insults on the streets - so I wouldn't allow them
near the church to cause trouble. I would instead
serve them an ASBO. <<

smiley - erm
If it is clear they are trouble-makers why go to the
trouble of having to monitor them and serve an ASBO?

Save the taxpayer some money, save customs the hassles,
save us all from potential violent upheavals, save the
police the extra manhours... Just don't let them into
the country.
smiley - bigeyes
I am so frustrated that everyone is so concerned with
principles that they are losing sight of the emotional
and financial costs to society when fringe groups use
guilt and emotional blackmail and fear of being judged
hypocritical or discriminatory.
smiley - erm
If we know we're gonna slap an ASBO on them why not
just avoid the whole issue. You wouldn't let a mad
dog into your house just because you know you can
always clean up later.

smiley - cheers

Thank you, tarantoes, for this comment:

"If you follow the link to the English Language Community thread you
will see that Robert has spent his time and effort in helping
Barbara and presumably others by responding to her posts and
correcting her English."

Dear peanut. I do not despise the 'help from anyone, indeed, but no mention of the other miseries of someone, especially if that person is present at the discussion.

A response from the OP! Hurray!

Paula, I see you are new here, welcome smiley - smiley If you go to http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2 you will get a different looking version of the site. The version you are using currently displays all apostrophes as gibberish eg: don&#39 ;t instead of don't. If you don't like the look of the above link try http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/alabaster

Hi -jwf- I was being perhaps a little facetious in expressing my
view. Certainly if the purpose of their visit is to create public
disorder with their abusive "demonstrations" against homosexuals -
which they call something else, then I wouldn't let them in. They
have already mentioned their intentions on their website so perhaps
it would be an open and closed case.

I see there is a lot of appeasing going on here..and is IMO likely to be the foundation of noohootoo. Some of us will utterly lose patience with the new culture. Christ there must be other places on the internet that will offer the kind of thing h2g2 can at its best. Hopefully I'll find them.
