What is your favourite videogame?
Interestman-
I may have mentioned it yet, I am quite a fervent gamer myself, and I wondered if there where any others on Hootoo. Please respond, or I am going to feel ridiculous .

I'm a ardent gamer too and there are a few of us about.
I mainly play Xbox360 although I do have other consoles (some of them *really* SNES anyone?)
Currently playing, Alice:Madness Returns, Tales of Vesperia, Duke Nukmem Forever Hunted:The Demon Forge and a variety of XBLA games. I love gaming, I do.
Really looking forward to Gears 3(yes, I've preodered the mega edition, even though I've got several Marcus figures) and Skyrim.

I need to decide whether to remain on PS3 or whether we are going to switch our gaming to PC. Since Mr Vip's PS3 died after *that* system update, we've only got one between us.
Plus if we play Skyrim on PC we might be able to become magic users or rangers. It's bl**dy impossible on PS3.

There are only a handful of PS3 exclusive games that I want to play. Heavy Rain being one of them. I'll have to wait until I get one of those really cheap, though because I can't justify it at the mo.

All time favourite is probably still Morrowind (RPG) so I really want Skyrim to be good. League of Legends (free MOBA similar to DoTA) comes in 2nd and then I'm really not sure what comes after that.

Gosh, all-time favourite. I think Syphon Filter 2 on the PS1(?) was superb and more so for the two-player game. Twiggster and myself spent many an hour playing it and eventually got two TVs, a aerial signal splitter.
This enabled us to get the feed to both TVs which were back to back. We then covered one half of each screen such that niether could see the other persons half...we then had the most tense gaming experience we had every had...never knowing whether you were going to get shot from behind...it was basically on-line gaming before on-line gaming was around...even now playing on-line in a 2 player head-to-head the tension isn't there - back then it was totally new...

Judging by how much I've played it, I suppose it would have to be Civilization: Call to Power. It has numerous flaws (including some glitches which mean I haven't completed it the last couple-of-dozen times I've started!) but just seems to have that addictiveness factor...

Ah... games
My gamer heritage started with an atari 800XL (with a 'proper' floppy drive, the 5 1/4" ones ) and wanders through several platforms to the present day.
Ones I still have fond memories of: original Sim City, Populous, a pinball game called Oblivion (I think), & Stargoose (all Atari 520 STE)
Just the meniton of the N64 takes me back to my first year at uni, playing Goldeneye and Lylat Wars till all hours. It was probably a good thing that Si (the mate I co-owned the console with) left uni after the first year, and bought me out, otherwise I probably woudn't have got my degree
Currently we enjoy Starcraft 2 and Sim City 3000 on the laptop, and Oblivion, Assasins Creed (1&2) on the XBox360. Waiting for Skyrim to come out later this year.

Yes. It's part of the Elder Scrolls series. The last one that was released was number 4, called Oblivion. Skyrim will be numver 5, due for release in November.

I'm going to have to try Oblivion again soon and see if I can get into it. My first few tries left me unimpressed.
If Skyrim is like Morrowind you might never hear from me again.

I loved the Final Fantasy games, but I hate the combat system a little more with each release now. I played Fable 2 recently and loved that, but I started Elder Scrolls with Daggerfall, and despite it being so buggy I never finished it I got back into it with Oblivian and will be getting the next one that comes out, new!
I hardly ever buy new games. I around the shop until the hardcore gamers trade in their game after playing it solid and finishing it the day or two after!

Menthol Penguin
It takes a little while to get into but the controls are intuitive. What race and class did you go for?
I'm still playing the Shivering Isles expansion pack. I finished the Knights OF the Nine last week. The game has kept me going for a few years now and I pretty much played it solid for a month when I got it.
Question: I have Morrowind on PC and didn;t really get going on it...is it worth buying on the XBox to get into it proper?
