h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

There are a lot of threads around at the moment after the announcement. Would you like to get involved but have no idea where? Did you visit a thread you liked but now have lost it and can't find it again?

Try asking in here, and either I will dig it out for you or someone else will beat me to it.

Please note I'm supposed to be working, so I may not be able to respond that quickly.

Can you find that thread where someone said something about noohootoo, and then loads of people pitched in with their ideas, then someone mentioned badgers or nighthoover or something, then 2legs came in, then we kind of lost the plot.

Or more seriously, I'm kinda glad that it is currently possible to be confused by the number of threads. It's like the place has suddenly become popular again. Hopefully this is a sign of good things to come, and not just a momentary blip.

Basically, I'm seeing confusion as a good thing here.

It is confusing. Partly because we don't have one central place, like the (current) Eds' Announcement thread, where we can tell people stuff.

Well, we do, it's U14914070 (the h2g2 Future account), but at the moment not everyone is subscribed to that account so we can't be sure that people hear us.

So yeah, this thread is partly so people can ask for help, but partly to reassure that it's not just you - it *is* confusing and we want to try and make it less so if possible.

I can never remember where I read something. I sometimes find it better to go away and think of what I want to say in reply to something - but when I come back, I can't remember which thread it was in, or even whether it was on h2g2 or elsewhere.

Mind you, that would work *sooo* much better if the bbc put the thread title along the top bar of each tab instead of "BBC - h2g2 - A forum conversation".

I've got so many tabs open at times kea, you just wouldn't believe it.

I usually have about 30 tabs open, sometimes more, my son for RPG maker malarky, Youtube, various random ones I wonder why Firefox runs so slow sometimes

Is there anything you're particularly confused about, Interestman, or just generally confused? Can I help on anything specific?

IE6 at work. Zero tabs. I don't know how I cope...

The wheels of confusion turn, and turn again, sometimes fast, adn sometimes slow, sometimes circular and sometimes longnitudinally, inexplicably spreadsing and contracting, taking the confusion to the inevitable conclusion of true enlightenment

This is a very good idea Vip. Just what I, and probably most people not directly in the consortium, need.

I don't have a specific question, I'm just waiting for all the fizz to bubble down so that a simple summary will cover all questions. If there's anything I can do, I would be happy to help, but my abilities and available time and equipment are limited.
