You'll know if you get it / Unnamed Tingling Feeling
ebonyrose75 Posted Mar 20, 2011
I get it when I watch my cat clean itself and watching certain people do certain things.
when i really tune into it it is like being in a trance and I don't want to move one inch or it will break the intense pleasurable tingly feeling and the trance like state.

I get it, it mostly happens at those 'lightbulb moments' when I finally get to grips with something I'm trying to learn or I can articulate an idea. I'd describe it as a crinkly feeling, so it feels like my head is crinkling then decrinkling, I always fancifully thought of it as a physical expression of my brain wiring itself up

>>I often feel as though the world is shrinking away from me<<
I go the other way, I sometime feel the world is 'too close' points on table corners I *know* are metres away from me *feeling* like they are about to poke me in the eye. Enough to make me have a 'jerk' responce trying to back away from it.
Can't explain it. Doesn't happen that often but often enough to know these are no isolated incidents.
I speculate it's something to do with how I am processing peripheral vision but that's as far as I get.

at the risk of saying with what other perculiar sensations do people get? Sitting on a rug or a pillow and putting your hand behind you and it feels a long way down. Not a visual 'jerk response' but startles me.

Oliver Sacks is a man well worth listening too. His descriptions of his hallucinations due to the 'dead' parts of his visual system, where the brains fills in the blank with, well, seemingly pretty much whatever, is fascinating!
