Windows Media Player has this function.

Sho, you can also right-click the folder and say: add to media player library (from what I recall. Haven't used it for a while).

smiley - bigeyes split into two files? smiley - erm I usually have them split in to .. ten or so tracks?
what if you select all the split up tracks in the denon program, then start the cddb search? it should return a list of possible album titles??

Sho - employed again!

up to now I haven't managed to find the files in the Denon program.
What it does, when it splits theem, is make one file for each side (unless i leave it recording while I turn the record over) and each of those files is split into however many tracks there are)

Anyway, I'm away from my PC right now - I'll have another look later. But too much faffing around isn't my ideal way of doing things

Hmm, you're right Sho, I very much doubt the gracenote thing would work with a vinyl recording. Gracenote and similar databases will look for precise track timings to ID an album which of course you wont have when tracks are being split arbitrarily via 'quiet bits'.
