Sadly it seems the Pianist Man was a fake all along. I just read that he has confessed he is actually a german, who worked in Paris and went to that beach in England to kill himself. And that he used to work with handicapped people, which is how he knew what to do. It still sounds rather fishy, I'll have another look around.

Hmmm, that seems to have even less. It would be a rather bad ending to it all wouldn't it?

There must be more in it than that... theere must* Very odd in that report; said he could only play a single note or soemthign... ahh but the very idea of teh erant pianist should remain, whatever the reality of it

Well, if he was trying to kill himself, why put on a tails-suit and remove the labels? Or go all the way to England for that matter.

He's not an illegal immigrant. As a German citizen he can go to the UK without needing a visa or so. And besides, seems he was there to kill himself. No money for you.
Wonder how much they will pay him for the movie rights?

Seems they've put a name on him now. Andreas Grassl from a small German village called Prosdorf. I wonder if he will get sent a bill for five months food and lodging.

I'd like to think that if I suffered some sort of breakdown in Germany, the health services there would care for me And I think it's entirely right the health trust in this instance isn't giving out any more information than it has to.
The media made this story, right at the start of the silly season. If anyone is disappointed/shocked/wants their money back, why not write to the newspapers, rather than focussing on either the hospital or the man himself.
