When writing for h2g2, do you have to include a bibliography? i haven't seen anyone who has, but isn't it breaking copyright not to?

It's up to you whether you include a bibliography or not. You'd only be breaching copyright if you copied something wholesale from another work (e.g. posting lyrics of entire songs, or quoting large passages from a book or other website). In that case, a bibliography wouldn't excuse you from copyright law.
