I want to get onto my MSN email but work has blocked this site because it has chatrooms and email… Does anyone know if I can get around the blocked site?

whats it say when you get the blocked thingy, is it something about websense categories and so forth?

The only thing you can really do is find a friendly techie who is willing to tell you what the unfirewalled server is called, or what ports are allowed to tunnel through the firewall thus bypassing the filter.

But they will know you are doing this and it will be in breach of your employment contract i would have thought, and they almost certainly will pull you in for a telling off and possibly worse.

Try using http://www.anonymizer.com/ to access sites which you are blocked access to. It acts as a virtual browser within your own browser. Be careful about the whole username and passwords bit though... I can't vouch for how trustworthy they are.

I would be very careful Footbacon. Icotan's advice is sound and well founded. Circumventing your companies Internet policy could be the quickest route to the dole queue. Most companies rate Internet abuse as gross misconduct with its attendant consequences.
