Having discovered a wonderful little website doing a sterling service by making sure all the 2012 conspiracy theorists have one place to go thereby not cluttering up more sensible sites like this, I thought I'd ask for contributions to the theories.

But what really got me was "activity that will peak in 2012 as sunspots hit their maximum level"

So 2012 is going to be very interesting, if only for all the conspiracy theorists wandering around waiting for *something* to happen.
That's Sarah Palin going for US President, end of the Mayan Calendar cycle and maximum sunspot activity all in the same year - surely this must mean something

What other things are going to happen in 2012 that you are aware of and that we can factor in?

Or do you have any theories which can combine the known events to explain the end of the world?

2012 is when I am having to pay £400 from council tax to pay for poxy Olympics!

Woah, I just realised that if I count the first two digits of the year as one number, 20, and the same for the second two and add them together I get my age.

If you multiply all the non-zero digits together and add them to 2012, then multiply all the non-zero digits of this number together and multiply *this* number by the original product, and divide it into the first number you got, the answer is...42!

So, we know know that universal Adams Constant (42) is involved somehow which means that weird and strangely funny things will be happening as well. Excellent. And it'll cost Londoners £400. Can't quite fit a_a_e's info in yet but I'm sure all will become clear

Isn't 2012 also when the cost of the government's current borrowing (to bolster the banks and attempt to avoid a depression) is going to start hitting us taxpayers hard in the pocket...?

The Mayans thought that Alcyone, the brightest star in The Pleiades, was the centre of the galaxy. It's possible they knew Venus' orbits and when it would strike through their heart:

but the 2012 crossing will bring Venus up close and personal with Alcyone (from our vantage point of course).

From a scientific point of view (I mean my *amateur astronomer's POV*) it's a very interesting year astronomically, and if I was an astrologer or soothsayer I'd have a lot more to say.
