Hmmm, tough call. I like sea bass, but I also like tuna (chargrilled, not tinned); and I like a nice bit of cod. Salmon I find a bit these days, unless it's wild* salmon. And I like shellfish generally (prawns, lobster, mussels, oysters). I even like a bit of squid provided it's fresh and cooked properly.
Can't decide.

I like haddock quite a lot, but the best fish I remember having was probably Red sea Bream tunna steaks can be great Monkfish was good, and trout can be great so long as its well filleted and smoked salmon, if its wild halibut doesn't seem to get much about these days can be good too I think tricky choice really haven't had eal in years

I don't think I've ever had fresh eel. Had smoked eel in a retaurant fairly recently, though...pretty tasty.
Most of the trout I've had over the past few years have tasted a bit muddy to me - don't know if that's because they're farmed; but I've given up on them pretty much as a fish. Silly really, as they're one of my favourite breakfast fish.

with the almonds on for breckfast?! I think I had it for main evenign meal with spuds can't rmeember now if I dry fried the almons first think I did for a couple mins, not sure what its ment to do to them, but I vaguely remember hearing it somewhere as something you should do I used to have kippers for breckfast every now and then when at uni, mainly cause no one else semed to like the smell, and I was the only person normally up before 8 AM, so I'd stink the kitchen out nicely for when they came in later on only the cheapo frozen 'ready to cook' ones

Generally I'd say haddock, but the best fish I've ever tasted was barbecued shark in Thailand, freshly caught that day. Delicious.
It sits there on ice, and you go up to a guy with a cleaver, and motion to him how big a chunk you like, and he cuts a huge chunk off(for about £1.40), then go have a beer on the beach watching the moon set while they cook it.
No' bad...

Salmon, tilapia, red snapper, and swordfish. And Northern Pike (found in Michigan and Canada) is great as well.

I'm a fryer and out of the selection that we sell, I would say cod is definately the favourite (in Essex anyway) with Haddock coming second and skate third.
You can't beat a fish and chip supper, unless you've cooked them all day and then they're the last thing you want .

Grilled/griddled Trout fillets with chilli, ginger and soy sauce. Or Langostines - which ain't really fish but are my fave of faves.
2legs - lightly cooking nuts makes them more digestable and brings out a much nuttier flavor as the natural oils are warmed and brought to the fore.

Did you hear about the woman who went on a fishing holiday with ten men?
She came back with a red snapper.

This thread was just bound to go downhill . . . .
Ok, so seriously - when I think of "fish" my knee-jerk is that I dont like it - but that's probably because of a childhood forced to eat hake - fishfingers and burgers and the like which are just awfull! Yuck! But in truth I love most sushi and Salmon, tuna, sole and (yes ok, calamari tho it isn't a fish) are superb! To add to the fishy faux pas - shrimp, prawns and lobster are also real winners.
Dont know that I COULD choose a favourite ..... they're all njummy - just NOT hake!

Mackerel. You can't beat fresh mackerel, preferably within hours of coming out of the sea. Once had some fried barracuda. That was quite tasty. I'm sure it was still alive when it went in the pan. Sushi - no thanks. Tried it once, didn't like it one little bit.
