I remember the 10 percenters. Quite liked it. Although that may be because it had Emma Cunniffe in it.

Thanks for the explanation about salad cream - I can finally sleep at night now. As for me I really love creamy mayonaise - leave me with a jar and a packet of cheese sticks to dunk in it and I'm in heaven.
As to the 10 percenters - we must have missed out on that one here in Australia (more's the pity from the sound of it)

I think you will find Ace actually said "Smoke me a kipper I'll be back for breakfast"
But I love your version
Yup a fan of RD as well. Series 3 a classic.
Series 7 and 8 sucked mainly due to the fact that Rob Grant stopped writing and that left Doug Naylor to come up with the goods and judging by the lack of mad situations and the unfortunate increase in character development it was Rob Grant who had the mad ideas mind.

'Salad cream is the spawn of Satan'
Euoow!
And I thought it was made by Heinz! - sticking to virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar in future

OK - there is some confusion that needs clearing up here...
Ace Rimmer's catchphrase was "Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast"
In the 7th series Ace returns and tells Arnie (Rimmer) that he is also a hologram and is going to die because his hard light drive has been damaged. Arnie will become the next Ace!! At the end, as Ace, Arnie gets into Ace's ship, turns to the crew and says "Stoke me a clipper, I'll be back for Christmas" then instead of the ignition switch he presses the ejector seat.
That was the end of Rimmer in Red Dwarf (apart from odd appearances) and we got Kochanski instead (downhill from then on)

The Groob Posted Jan 20, 2005
When I think of the arrival of Kochanski I see someone at the BBC saying "Hey we need a woman in this".
Do you remember the Psirens? I think that Jenny Agutter was in that episode. They found the psiren because it shared Lister's delusion that he was great on guitar!

"She'll never leave Fred and we know it" - Lister
"YOU'RE scared? You haven't seen it" - Cat (typing)
"Whoever heard of a worm skin rug?" - Rimmer
"Someone who badly needed a pen" - Lister
"I prefer to count it in ice ages, then it's only four" - Lister
No matter how many times I hear those punch lines, I never tire of them.
I have to agree with those who've said already, series 7 & 8 were disappointing, they had their good moments, a couple of episodes from each series were decent, but on the whole, 'meh'.
I personally think that the characters were changed too much, the novelty of Kryten's being a jealous whinge bag, wore off pretty quickly and is it just me, or did Lister's voice seem to go up an octave or three between series 6 and 7?

Favourite bit:
The Cat is dancing down the corridor.
"S-E-X, you know I want it. S-E-X, you know I need it. Ooh, ahh!"
The Cat spots the unconscious Lister on the floor.
"S-E-X, I think I found it!"
