I just woke up from a dream - laughing.
In my dream I laughed so much that tears came out of my eyes and my sides ached. And then I woke up. Shame.
So now the usual reason for waking up from a dream is either that the alarm goes off, or it is a nightmare, and I'm glad to wake up.
Waking up from laughing so much is a new one for me.
Anyone else remembers this happening to them?

I once woke myself up laughing at a joke in my dreams, in the cool light of day it wasn’t funny but it was great waking up laughing.
Have Fun

no. but i did once fart myself awake. unaware i was responsible i spent 5 minutes trying to find where the dog had shat in my bedroom.
it took a second cheek spreader of evil olfaction to realise the dog was innocent.

They say that a good laugh is healthy. Makes me wonder if a dreamed laugh has similar properties? Or is it just about all the muscles you move when laughing?

Yes! That happened to me before. It was a very strange experience. I was most put out that I couldn't remember what was so funny.
Given what you've written elsewhere B'Elana, I must have a similar dream-pattern to you, or something.

KB, I got up in the middle of the night to write down what I remembered, so I know what was so funny in my dream.
Had I just gone on sleeping, I'd probably not have remembered just what had made me laugh so much.
And I agree, it was a very strange experience.

Not so much woken from laughing, but with a definite grin, chuckle or sometime fear. A split second of sub-conscious time of a fire alarm or other catastrophic sound ringing in the ears. The sound and echo are real, and you hunt the house for a cause ...
Hey, it certainly gets the day going with the heart working !!!

Yep, I've woken up laughing. It's happened twice, both in the last few months. No idea what I was laughing aout, but both tmes I found it very difficult t stop. The Missus thought I was crazy, as I couldn't sy what I was laughing at, even though I was still laughing!
And I believe, whether asleep, or awake, a laugh is a good thing!

On thinking about it Bel, re:post 5, I think it's probably the chemical eaction yo ge wit laughing that does you the good - I'm no expert, but is it endorphins that get released? Must be good, awake *or* asleep!
As for Lil in post 9 - my sister, in harder times, had a job folding the inserts for pop up cards. She would do over 2000 a day.
One night she heard her husband screaming in agony - she was trying to fold his arm in her sleep! (she has a good grip, my sister!)

I think I was dreaming I was wiping her mouth.. unless it was the time I thought I was putting her dummy in...
Another time, I dived across the bed, thinking the baby was falling off!
