I thought it might be fun to do some surveys...with Google providing the statistics!
Do two searches, one preceded by "I hate.." and one preceded by "I love.." and insert the subject of your choice. Then post up the number of search results.
To start off (and inspired by the Robbie Williams thread)
"I love Robbie Williams" gives 1810 results
"I hate Robbie Williams" gives 148 results

Or alternatively pick two different subjects.
"I love David Beckham" gives 529 results
"I love Wayne Rooney" gives 15 results

A worrying one:
"I love murder" 2600
"I hate murder" 285
(Maybe not half as worrying as me deciding to search for that)

Question, is this in the 'normal' search field or using the 'find exact phrase', as on the search obx on main page, it ignores the 'I'

However, "Highthoover will return" gives 13 entries, whereas "Nighthoover will not return" gives 0 entries. Conclusive proof, if such were needed!

Nice thread.
"I love maths" 6950
"I hate maths" 720
"I love math" 14900
"I hate math" 12600
"I love mathematics" 1450
"I hate mathematics" 4870
So... conclusions: English people seem to love it more than Americans, but either way more people love it than hate it (ha!), as long as it's abbreviated (everyone hates things with too many syllables).
Actually the last one needs qualifying, of the 4870 "I hate mathematics", 4364 are for a book called "The I Hate Mathematics! Book".
------------------
How about this though...
"I love" 25.5M
"I hate" 8.7M
"I love it" 4.6M
"I hate it" 0.7M
"I love everything" 137k
"I hate everything" 101k
What a positive place the internet is.
