I've had an anti-tetanus shot this morning(a 10 year booster jobbie)

Can I donate blood on Sunday?

Hmmm... here in the United States we're not allowed to as far as I understand, at least if you've had a shot that recently. Then again, I also know of phlebotomists who make people more panicky by asking panicked if you're nervous. smiley - erm

I'm eligible again, but right now there are no drives going on in town. smiley - sadface

I checked out lil's link and found one interesting difference between Texas (the site's specific to Texas, by the looks of things) and the UK. Over here I'm not allowed to give blood because I have MS. In Texas there doesn't seem to be any such restriction, or maybe it's just not mentioned.

I've never understood why MS prohibits me from giving blood (it's not specifically mentioned on the National Blood Service website, BTW). I've been told it's because they don't know how MS is transmitted, so they err on the side of caution. I can be an organ donor because they're so desperate for organs they don't worry so much about what the person's suffering from, but they can get enough blood from existing donors.

You can call me petty, but if my blood's not good enough then neither are my organs.smiley - cross
