Apart from the BBC Penguins (available via I-player or youtube) I did spot this one, which would only be interesting to an F1 geek...

There was greyhound racing on ice in the BBC Breakfast sports bit. I saw the penguins and it didn't click that it might be a fool

I nearly got taken in by a Metro article declaring that BMW had declared war on rover.
Turned out the article was on a device built into BMW wheels that would zap little doggies having a wee with 200V.
Whilst getting annoyed with this I spotted that the device was called a Canine Repellant Alloy Protection system (C.R.A.P).
It was at this point that I remembered what day it was.

On the Metro story, there was also a quote from campaign group Put Animals First, from their spokeswoman Lola Forpi. Bit of a giveaway.
Guinness have a full-page advert in Metro which looks eerily similar to this one that they ran in Australia last year...

I haven't noticed any And I somhow resisted the temptation just now, when doing the forum summary for the boards connected with work work, to include a take message in the summary from the comision saying that they'd decided to close the entire project down I'm just not sure if my manager would have seen the funny side *runs off to have a look at the online newsfeeds

Well apart from a reference via the BBC's player about Terry Jones discovering a colony of flying penguins, the US dropping the dollar for the Euro and the Borg apparently invading and taking over Cable Forum, most have passed me by.

The trend is for newspapers to save their weird-but-true stories for April 1st, to try to fool people that way. The BBC list some here, but spoil it a bit by including those penguins: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/7324127.stm
