Sounds like becoming friends with Sting would have to rank pretty highly.
Suddenly I feel very boring.
Has anyone seen theSweeney Todd film? The girl who payted Johnny Depps daughter in it was a couple of years below me at school. She was in all the school plays of course.

Ewif's dad was good friends with the Charlton brothers. He's no longer with us, sadly. He was a magician and did the 'magic circuit' so ewif got to meet lots of top names in magic. Wayne Dobson - who sadly now suffers from MS - stood out as a particularly nice chappie. She also met Ian Dury and said he was extremely nice and friendly.

I have met a stunt man from "Walker, Texas Ranger," Eric Dickerson, who played for the LA Rams at one time, a football player from the Houston Oilers, and lived in the towns of several other popular sports figures.
The only actor I've met is William Katt from "The Greatest American Hero."

I've had a celebrity let on to me, which was pretty cool. Helen Worth, who played Gail in Corrie until quite recently, is related to a mate of mine from school and I'd met her a few times. I was down in London and she saw me and let on. The person I was with was very impressed.
Met most of the Hollyoaks and younger Coronation Street cast when I worked at a cinema in Manchester. The person who played Sarah-Louise was always very rude, while the guy who played OB in Hollyoaks is lovely and he gave me a 50 quid tip.
Also at the cinema I met Nickelback, Meatloaf, Peter Kay and my personal favourite, Will Smith. He was there for a premiere and I was assigned to look after him - he was so and he'd say things like "Oh Jada [Pinkett-Smith, his missus] did this and it was so funny" as if me and him were best mates.
I've met Madonna as well, a mate's best mate worked for EMI and knew her socially and he took me with him to meet her. I was such a dork and she was nice about it.

Depends on your definition of famous as they're only "famous" in certain circles.
I met the first British astronaut, Helen Sharman at the Manchester Museum of Science and Industry. I think I was 11 at the time.
I met former BBC News correspondent and former MP for Tatton, Martin Bell in a meeting I randomly got dragged into at uni.
Alan Halsall (Tyrone from Coronation Street) was in my kid brother's class at high school. He was annoying then as he is on TV now.
I've played Mario Kart DS in person against Andy Hartpence (NOA_Andy of Nintendo.com's old NSider forums, and Wheelie Cyberman of Nerdcore hiphop group Optimus Rhyme). I lost.

My ex is in a Hollyoaks spin-off.
I don't suppose a list of seminal electronica/IDM/Drum'n'Bass musicians would particularly interesting to the people reading this thread...
Rolf Harris. I dissed out his drawing as a child (I was a child)
Kool Herc. The big fat black man credited with inventing Hip-Hop, I smoked spliffs with him.
I drunkenly insinuated to Roland Gift that he was a paedophile.
I live on the same street as Paul Heaton from the Beautiful South. I've been using my skateboard to do do destructive things to his front wall since the late 80's.
I used to live in the house next door to where Philip Larkin used to live...

Hollyoaks spin-off. I think it lends me an air of worldly distinction.
