And to get everyone out at the end, play by Aqua. If the owner doesn't like the Beatles, he'll probably love this.

Not too late, y'all, the gig's not till the last weekend of this month or the first one of December. I'm still taking them all down and will post a playlist once it's settled on. Thanks bunches!!

Well, thanks, but Nikita is also a boy's name. Confusing stuff, ethnic names.
Keep 'em coming, y'all. I have two more weeks till I have to start seriously narrowing down my list. And I'm seriously considering offering a copy of the final CD to anyone who's interested who's contributed here.

I don't actually know - is Van the Man's Gloria above the same as the Doors' Gloria?

I didn't think it was... I'll check it out. I'm a big fan of Van, so I might stick to his, if so.
I'm going to begin compiling a final list early next week: the gig is going to take place December 6th. I still have time, though, so keep 'em coming, if you like. I'll post the final cut here, either just prior to or just after.
Thanks bunches for all of the great ideas!!

Gig is scheduled for December the 6th, so hopefully I'll be posting the playlist on the 7th.
Thanks again for all of these great suggestions.

Looks like a busy couple of days then: me, I have two concerts, one on the 4th and one on the 5th. I sing in a choir, you know, and am doing a good few solo bits. So exciting. Anyhow, one of the X-Mas songs we do also has a girl's name in it:
Über's Gebirg Maria geht (Mary is crossing the mountains). You don't want that on your list, though.
Good Luck on the 6th.

Well, Christmas time being over, it is time to ask: how did it go? Which songs did you play? How many beer bottles were thrown at you?

Indeed, I haven't had time to get it typed up and posted yet. No beer bottles thrown, though. I'll see if I can get on tonight and post them- it was only two hours' worth, then I switched off with someone else.
Thanks again, everyone.
