with the old SETI client you could see the results for a work unit showing the various peaks/whatever with a default description of them.

So you could see if there was anything weird in there, like a very high peak (say something in the mid to high 30s) or whatever. How do you, if you can, do this with the BOINC client?

I know it doesn;t actually tell you, but it's nice to know if your work units contained anything which might be of further interest.

btw, I do like the sound of saying 'seti boinc', has a pleasing ring to it

Perhaps a "Seti boink" is when you have sex with an alien.

I'm doing the Seti, Rosetta and Einstein Boincs. I've no answer to the original question but couldn't waste an opportunity to use that sentence.

GB- yes I think they do. Plus if your computer was the one which finds a real alien signal I think there's a cash prize. Although I'm not pinning my hopes of future financial success on finding aliens!

A649893 is the EGE on SETI, but it badly needs updating to include the switch-over to BOINC. Here A407530 is where I remembered reading about the screensaver tip, I haven't used a screensaver since, so I have no idea if the BOINC one is preeeetttyyy or not
In fact, since I upgraded my PC (which has VISTA now) I don't know how to even access the feature.
