h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Having 'cured' a friend of mine of an itch that was bugging him for about three months - namely "what's the song they use in Bowling for Columbine" and being able to offer him not one but two versions of the track (Take the Skinheads Bowling by Teenage Fanclub - origonal by Camper Van Beethoven) i now have a new challenge.

His girlfriend want's to know what the song is in Pretty in Pink, (no, not "Pretty in Pink"!) playing when Ducky is sat on the dustbins. But i can't get it from her "nah nah nah" rendition, and we don't have a copy of the film. Anyone know what it is?

And what's the song in Exotica when they're in the strip club - sounds like Chris Rea but i've never seen it on his albums.

Or the song they play in the bar in Kalifornia

Or the song that he collapses in the Shower to in Sopranos that i bought the soundtrack album for and then it wasn't on it! (Tiny Tears into the Ocean)

I think it's Pere Ubu - nt sure of the track something early ninties though.

And Tiny Tears by tindersticks, from their second album (which has just been re-released).

I'm not that good with popular stuff but I have a taste for the obscure, so I'll lurk in case I can help
