Has anybody come a across a map or some sort of list showing where "problem" fuel is thought to have been bought?

I've had a look at the interweb and can't find anything specific.

Take that with a pinch of salt though - I noticed one guy in the 'have your say' section complaining because his car broke down after he'd filled it up from a Tescos - thing is - he was driving a diesel!

So some of those reports could be people jumping on the bandwagon hoping for a payout from Tescos just because they've got a broken-down heap of a car.

Yes, it's a list of people who smiley - starthinksmiley - star the problems they've been having are related to the fuel, and figured letting the bbc know was the first, most important thing smiley - winkeye

It was the BBC map that prompted the question. It doesn't tell you enough (at least in this version of IE), just the general location of filling stations. An interactive map would be better (or a KML file for Google Earth).

Well we fill our car up from Tesco's and admittedly for the last six months the car has been juddering, over running, conking out and not ticking over, when we took it out our mechanic (numerous times I might add) he did say it was the fuel and there was nothing he can do about it.

Only thing that we could do was to add STP additive to the fuel every time will filled up but at £6.99 it's expensive. We've had the car over 2 years and until we started using Tesco's we had no problems, so no we use other garages and admittedly the car has been running better but still has a few blips now and again.

I'm not really here

I've always been told not to let your car get low on fuel before filling up, as all the sludge at the bottom of the tank then goes round your engine which can cause problems. I do this all the time in my Hijet, and don't have any problems.

Of course, I don't use Tesco, not wanting to end up living in Tesco-land. And they're trying to sell off some of their land which means an animal sanctuary is going to have to get rid of around 200 animals. smiley - cry
