The main question for this conversation is: "Have humans discovered the deeply fundamental principles that govern the whole universe?"
You may think that there is an obvious answer to this question, and you would probably be right, but to prove the point I find it interesting to try to explain simple events at their most fundamental level.
For example: 'A man sees a tree'.
This event can be explained scientifically by stating 'Photons of light, from a luminous source or sources, reflected from the tree and travelled through the air to reach the eye of the man.'
But this isn't fundamental. You would need to analyse whether photons of light are actually made of anything smaller, and exactly how they get their energy for travelling through space, and precisely how the man interprets the data as a 'tree' in his brain and whether it was really a tree and not a mirage.
So the challenge is this: is there an event or concept that can be explained neatly in its most fundamental principles, right down to the level of sub-atomic particles that can be divided no further?
Don't forget that any concept to do with human interpretation always involves the brain, and yet neurobiologists don't quite understand exactly how the brain works at the moment.
Furthermore, if there is such an event/concept, can we unequivocally claim that the explanation of it is undoubtedly correct and proven?

I just thought I had to post here again because my space said that I first posted '42 minutes ago'. Eerie isn't it?

In that case, why don't we all have a conversation about... I don't know... the mobile phone industry? Where will mobile phones go next and what new technology will they include? Let's keep it simple.

Mobile phones will go wherever we carry them. Such is their purpose in life. That, and to run out of credit just as we need to make an important call...
