I turned 40 yesterday

Depressing enough. Then I thought to myself that possibly, the majority of the world's population are younger than me

Does anyone know what the average age worldwide is?

I think, but am not certain, you would have to ask the age of every person on earth, add the ages together, then divide the total of ages by the number of persons,
which I think is expressed as "Total divided by the sum of parts". I am sure those mathematically more skilled will correct me if wrong.

It is probably 40 something. The age of most populations in the world is increasing and the proportion of younger people decreasing.

I didn't celebrate it. In fact, I've decided I'm not 40 after all.


I'm thirty-ten

I've started going backwards from my last birthday! In December I'll be 38 (again)

I'm 29 and some months.

Strangely, you've got it right. However...

by the time you asked everyone on earth how old they were, tallied it all up and divided, I'm fairly certain you'd have to start over, as a bunch would've aged some more by then.

A desire for accuracy is it's own punishment.

So, determining everyone's age is similar to some actions of quantum mechanics, i.e the act of measuring changes the data

Happy belated birthday SWL, I was 40 nine years ago and got over the trauma by marrying a lady 13 years my junior on the day itself.

You are - as they say - as young as the woman you feel..........

It certainly is a plan. Now all I have to figure out is how to trump that for my 50th next year..............

Many years ago, when t'internet was nobbut knee-high to a grasshopper, there circulated an excel-based attachment ( remembers when employers allowed you to download attachments willynilly) called "the Purity Test".

This basically asked you questions about sex, drugs, and rock'n'roll to give you a "purity" score. The higher your score, the more debauched your lifestyle.

One of the sex questions centred on the age of people you'd slept with, relative to your own age. The defining standard was 2x, each way. Now, I was fortunate enough to achieve the 2x standard at the age of 17...my next challenge is to do it the other way, i.e. sleep with someone to whom I am 2x (in my case, she'd be 20, or 21 if I do it next year). May I suggest you set yourself the same target?

Actually I the world life expectancy is 64.77 acording to the CIA world factbook, so technically 32 years 140 days is the half-way house.
