Is mise Duncan

"Essayer de tousser maintenant"...
(Now try to sneeze)
which was the last line of Julie's husband in Three Colours Blue.

Which raises another issue - what about people who die whilst telling a long rambling story? There should be a website where you can seek closure for anecdotes - perhaps "Ends reunited"?

I'd like my last gasp to be something like "worse things happen at sea" - I like the expression because it is both true and completely irrelevant smiley - ok

Of course there's every chance that it could be "oh sh*t" - quite a common ending I suspect.

I think the most common ones are things like:

"Hey look at this"

or

"See what I can do"

Quickly followed by an ever so brief but undoubtedly painful show of bravado.

Nbcdnzr, the dragon was slain, and there was much rejoicing

I think the most used last words are (rather boringly) along the lines of:
"Night dear"
or alternatively, while setting the alarm clock:
"I wish I didn't have to get up so early tomorrow"

"It's better to die than to fear death."
"Mommy!"
