Or so it seems, sometimes, when really all you're doing is killing time between Maths and French.

It's been put to bed for another year I should imagine, but the word Crimbo for Christmas sets my teeth on edge.

You know, this year on hootoo was the first time I'd ever heard (well, seen) that term before - Crimbo - and I immediately hated it.

Hmmm... first I've heard of 'Crimbo'. Sounds quite nasty.
BTW (and this is the last I'll mention the subject for another year) I hate it when people mistakenly criticize the use of 'Xmas'. 'Xmas' does NOT take the Christ out of Christmas. It really IS a valid abbreviation for Christmas. Scribes used 'X' as a direct abreviation for 'Christ' so 'merry xmas' would be read as 'merry christmas' NOT 'merry eksmas'. Ok... that's my and hopefully I'm done with the subject for another year.
P.S. Any store or commercial still playing Xmas music should be... should be... well, I can't think of what should happen to them, but it should be pretty horrible I think.

hi pheloxi,
I'm going out to see the Three Kings 'cabalgata' (parade) this evening.
I have never liked 'xmas' - it's only four letters more to write the entire word.

well, it's only sugar and chemical preservatives . . . they must be edible for years (if one thinks they are edible in the first place).

I was once told that honey is the only natural food that never spoils - I wonder if this is really true? I once ate some 12-year-old honey and it tasted fine . . . also, I'm still alive.
