No. Puntos look horrible, are virtually unserviable by anyone but a Fiat dealer and generally unpleasent. Err, B, Odo's new car isn't a Punto is it? smiley - laugh

No, Odo's old car was a Punto. The new one, which I advised her to buy, is a rather pleasant little Clio.

Ahh. I knew Puntos came into it somewhere. Personally it's still a little fussy and frilly for my liking. Want a small car, get a Metro. Nothing bu tthe bare minimum of kit, all user-servicable, highly reliable, and execellent fuel consumption. Mine does Burton-Hastings on £35 of petrol, and has a top comfortable speed of ton ten.

Yeah. My first Metro was a beaut. Y-reg Vanden-Plas, sunroof, walnut dash, the works. My second one was a dog, sadly.

Plus, they're very, very prone to rust.

ah so a fiat is like a compaq (I'm a cycle riiding support tech).

I look and the wife harasses me.
She looks, comments, drools AND tells me to get over it if I say anything.

Regular cleaning and touching-up will prevent rusting. My H reg is still going strong, I'll be very sad when I have to part with her.

Suit yourself. I've never found it particularly easy to become attached to Metros. smiley - sadface

I think men are just as put out by their partners looking at opposite sex and can be just as jealous generally. They have bigger egos so would presume their partner wouldn't do it. If they see it they are even more upset.

Someone with a bigger ego is less likely to be put out

Not if a guy caught their partner eying someone else up. He'd maybe assume he was better than the other guy but once he saw his partner ogling would puff out his chest and make a big fuss nevertheless. Seen it many times.

Rains - Wondering where time's going and why it's in so much of a hurry!

True...

When my ex and I were on holiday a couple of months ago, I caught the eye of one of the lifeguards in the pool. When the ex noticed, he didn't leave me alone for the rest of the time we were in there (ie holding my hand, arm round me, usual stuff).

I wasn't aiming to get the other bloke's attention, I should add! I had a tendency to glare at women who eyed him up, though.

Men and women can both be jealous and in either its not pretty when those feelings get too strong. Men tend to think that the woman is at fault if she looks elsewhere. Whereas women tend to think they have failed in some way if their man looks elsewhere.

I dont think men have bigger egos just that we construct them differently and base them on different principles to women. Mens egos are more robust and constructed from the inside out unlike women who tend to look to others for affirmation of themselves.

As a 30 second synopsis of what men can be like I think the ad is fairly accurate.

Have to agree, actually - with all of that!

Plus, it's an advert.... it's not meant to be serious (is it?). It's just trying to get women to buy a car!

(not that I would touch a Punto with a ten foot barge pole!)
