Ban all Opinions?
Flake99 Started conversation Apr 24, 2003
Should people be allowed to hold independent opinions? It's a bit dangerous, isn't it?
After all, if we want this whole globalisation thing to pick up speed, we can't have people going around, holding opinions willy-nilly, can we?
I heard a saying earlier today which gave me an idea, it went as follows. 'The nail that sticks up is the first to be hit on the head.' Isn't it perfect? Following the advice in this saying, we could go around the world, hit all the nails that stick up, and that should sort out all our problems, right?
In the mean time we should ensure that most of the populus are heavily armed and live in total fear of each other all the time. This state of constant fear can be achieved through irresponsible journalism on TV shows that pass for 'news'. Oh, and if we keep warning them about suicidal arabs wanting to kill their children we should be able to get away with taking away all civil liberties, shouldn't we?
Regards,
G. Dubya.

Oh, and there I was thinking it was a rant against certain people on this site...
Of course. All independant thought must be banished. And as a replacement, everyone should herald MINE, and take it as the truth. The world would be a better place...

Well, if you're going to start throwing aphorisms (it is an aphorism isn't it? ) like 'The nail that sticks up is the first to be hit on the head.' around, how about 'It's the squeaky wheel that gets the oil'?

Actually, I believe it's 'the "liberators" get the oil.'

What about 'humble' opinions?
Remember it is writ that the meek shall inherit the earth. Altho in my opinion they deserve what they get.

I think that all opinions will have to go. It just can't carry on this way.

Because what we really want is a world where everyone is five foot five, with brown hair and brown eyes, wearing grey suits and sitting in offices typing without question all day, and the few people (or person) that run(s) the world will be unknown and be the only one(s) who dare(s) have an opinion!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, and wishes. They've got to go too. Can't have the populus becoming optimistic about anything now, can we?

Vice-President of the New World Order! Now THERE'S an idea. But hang on, If I'm Vice-President, then who's the President? alright, social hierarchy coming back again... This New World Order needs a bit more planning. And I don' know if I'll have time for it. I'm also Vice-President of something else already...

I'll be the President! Provided, that is, I can take ten months off every year and get a seven-figure salary in Pounds Sterling (that doesn't start with leading zeros)

Actually, I think there already is a president. Although I'm pretty sure that he didn't take the elections all that seriously, so you've probly got as much right to be president as him.
