Mmmmmmm, chalk.
Other animals don't drink milk, they must get calcium in their diet. I have a friend who doesn't drink milk at all, because she doesn't like it. She doesn't do anything special to replace milk, just eats a normal balanced diet. To the best of my knowledge she has a full set of bones.

I have known, more as aquantencies some cats which drink milk into adulthood. Often not that often.

To quote from "Lullaby" by Chuck Palahniuk:
"... a glass of milk isn't just a nice drink with
chocolate chip cookies. It's cows forced to stay pregnant and pumped with
hormones. It's the inevitible calves that live a few miserable months, squeezed in
veal boxes."

Broma-whatsit the enzyme in pienapple actually starts to digest you, thats why it tingles on the side of your mouth and tounge. Thats why you have it with cheese on sticks because they sort of copliment each other and are apparently nice together. Although the thought of fruit and cheese does not appeal to me.

Bromelian, is that where David Eddings got his trilogy title from then?
*not too happy about the idea of fruit that digests you whilst you are eating it!*

It is perfectly possible to live without milk. I never drink the stuff (black tea, no cereal). There's plenty of calcium in cheese, fish and (thank God!) beer.
All dairy products stimulate mucus production. I'm supposed to lay off them as I have overactive stomach acid production, which mucus movement in turn aggravates. The reason, as far as I can remember is that all humans have a minor form of lactose (or lactic acid) intolerance. If the system thinks you're consuming a poison, it will produce mucus to isolate and remove it. Breast milk is very low in the irritant compound.

Soya and goats milk apparently have less lactose than cows milk.
