Things you never see anymore
You can call me TC Posted Feb 23, 2003
The dot at the end of the evening's TV programmes.
Big black British passports with the coat of arms in gold
My feet
Bath buns - I make my own, but not often
Record players? - they call them turntables these days and there's plenty around.
June bugs
Mice (the rats have taken over in our garden)
So which of these "things you don't see any more" are sadly missed, and which ones are we better off without. And - most important - which one are we going to campaign for the revival of?

I used to have to use those 8" floppies at work - now I feel old. Dang!
How about shop bought software fitting on 1 floppy disk.
... or on a cassette (like music ones)
Glass in phone boxes as opposed to plastic, or smashed plastic. (Soon to be do you remember phone boxes)
How about blue police telephone boxes (not just the Tardis)
Green wooden shelters for cab drivers.
Sawdust on pub floors.
Pavement not covered in chewing gum.
High streets that do not have a 'set of golden arches.'

Whoops, should have read all the backlog before replying.
That last post was in relation to the name of the girl on the defunct Test Card that you never see anymore.

Ooh! I've thought of a few more...
In schools, you don't see wooden 30CM rulers... Metal and plastic, yes, but not wooden...
also those massive one meter rulers that teachers always had...

We're not allowed those big board rulers any more, I don't think. Throwing board rubbers is out, too, and PE teachers aren't allowed to flick wet towels to encourage the taking of showers.

Did any good song ever go straight to number one? It was usually the hyped up trash - even back in the old days.
