Hi!
I'm at work and in between taking dull calls and inputting dull data I'm titling the tracks on the minidisc recording of QOTSA's Songs For The Deaf that I made the other night, but I haven't got a tracklisting so I don't know what they're all called! I don't want to just label them all after the most sung line in the song presuming that's the name of the song because I'm pedantic like that.
Has anyone got a copy of the cd nearby and if so could you be a doll and tell me the tracklisting please?
Nice.

smiley - laugh I know, half the songs on my MDs have been given names that I just think are appropriate! Thing is, I get used to knowing the songs by the name I've given them and then no-one knows what I'm talking about when I say something like
"Oh, that reminds me of that bit in 'Don't You Try (To Fake It)' by Feeder". smiley - laugh
On 'Songs For The Deaf, there is about 30 seconds of rhythmic laughter with guitars before Mosquito Song and then afterwards there's a song which sounds like a cross between The Dandy Warhols and The Divine Comedy. smiley - weird

smiley - laugh I like at the end of one of Supergrass's songs on Supergrass you here the drummer in the band saying "Can we go home now?" after about 10 20 seconds of silence, always makes me laugh.

smiley - laugh Haven't heard that one, what recording is it on? I like their new track. "And you can try to understand.........I'm just a rock and roll singer in a rock and roll baaaand." smiley - cool .
Ash have an album named after a year, I think it's 1972 or something, but it's got Angel Interceptor on it...anyway, at the end there's a hidden track that's a recording of them, obviously at the end of a heavy night out, and you can hear one of them puking violently while the others all p!$$ themselves laughing and offer supportive comments like "THAT is f****g DISGUSTING!". Rock and roll, man. smiley - cool

My copy of 'Songs For The Deaf' has a couple of bonus live tracks after Mosquito Song. One of them is 'The Lost Art Of Keeping a Secret' (the only other song I've heard by them, and brilliant at that) and the other I can't remember. I am very glad I asked for it for Christmas.

Yep, I think 'The Lost Art Of Keeping A Secret' is the Dandy Warholesque one, because he keeps going on about "Come on baby, let me tell ya, all the things I wanna say"
Cheers, Bob!

The chorus refrain is "Whatever you do / Don't tell anyone".

Lost art is my fave QotSA song, although I do love Feel Good Hit of the Summer.

I think I'd have to go for 'No One Knows', on balance.

The great thing about QotSA is that they're more like anti-pop than rock. And how you just can't tell if songs like six-shooter are serious or just making fun of numetal. Better Living Through Chemistry is my fave, if just for the title and its euphoria.
