PH: That the organisation I work for that has spent an immense amount on 'rebranding' including new badges & lanyards for all staff - but we don't have enough wheelchairs available when needed.

I need to reinstall my printer's software. I know that I downloaded the necessary file some time ago, but couldn't find anything in my download folder that referred to the printer make or model. I went online to download the software again and discovered that the relevant file is PS_AIO_something. I do have that file in the download folder, but there's no way I could know it's the software for my printer.

P for Printer, S for software?

Even if PS does stand for Printer Software there's no reference to the printer model in the file name, so it's still useless. I've created a folder with the printer model as it's name and put the file in there.

Not a Petty Hate at the moment, more a Mega Hate - hot weather, particularly at night. I haven't had a decent night's sleep for at least a week. Last night was really bad and the thunderstorm didn't help. I'd consider having a nap, but I'm currently in the coolest room in the house and there's nowhere I can get comfortable in here.

I have the same mega hate and now I have my blackout blinds closed and black out curtains closed in my bedroom and living room. Even Simba my cat does not want to go out in the heat and if he could complain on here, he would.

I think it'd be more tolerable if they offered "sips & nibbles"...

Or would that be worse.

...

Yeah, worse.

PH: Unable to sleep last night, no matter what I did to make myself cooler. I found I could only sleep when wearing moisturised socks.

PH: bananas. The smell of them makes me feel ill, never mind the taste. Hubby has had to give up having bananas, even though he loves them. Bless him!

I share that PH, Cheerful Dragon - good of your hubby to give them up, but I can imagine it makes a huge difference to you.

I used to sit downwind of a colleague who ate one every day for lunch, so I had to time my lunch to make sure I was out of the office when that happened... I was glad to move desks after that!

Interesting, I can stomach the taste with yogurt or chocolate, but otherwise I'm not keen on the scent at any time. Does make a difference, time of day etc - I like marmite but can't stand the smell of it on brown toast at breakfast time.

Heh, I was half-way through eating a banana when I opened this convo. smiley - laugh

While I like bananas, I can completely sympathize as I feel the same way about isoamyl acetate, the chemical used to produce artificial "banana" flavor in candies like (for some unknown reason) "Circus Peanuts" marshmallow candies. Isoamyl acetate was one of the earliest "artificial" food flavors. (Isoamyl acetate IS present in nature including bananas and pears. Brits may be more familiar with it as the flavor of Pear Drops candies.) It's said it resembles the flavor of the Gros Michel ("Big Mike") banana cultivar that was ravaged by Panama disease more than it does the flavor of Cavendish bananas which dominate the markets today.

Regardless, I hate it. I hate the smell of it. So, while I like Cavendish bananas, I understand your aversion.

Yes, isoamyl acetate certainly set off my aversion to the smell of bananas, as it was used in the "banana flavor" antibiotic medicine I used to have to take from time to time... I also don't like the texture of bananas, though, so I couldn't even try to get past the smell...

That is interesting that you like Marmite even though you don't like the smell, Teasswill - I more often like the smell of things but don't like the taste or texture, eg strawberries smiley - strawberry

The trouble with bananas is that there's no way to tell if they're ripe.
