Oddly, Pink Floyd were (are) great live performers but you don't have to *see* them. The show is the thing. If you see the videos, the spectacle is obvious but the scale is something else. They are the engine for a massive sculpture in light and sound. Even in the early days, (I first saw them in 1968) their use of technology was at the sharp end; strobes slaved to speakers, liquid film projectors, etc. I've seen them in the open on the "Delicate Sound of Thunder" tour where the lasers looked brilliant in the rain and at Earl's Court on the last tour. They have made changes as they had to but remain true to the spirit of their roots in blues/jazz style of sound. My dear old mum used to say to me "enjoy it while they last, imagine them 50 or 60 years old trying to do their act, or Mick Jagger leaping about in his 50's". Ah, Well...Quality Will Have It's Day. However, I do have a deep feeling of foreboding that there may be no more PF. The rumour market is not strong and it is nearly 9 years since they produced any new material; ooh, ooh, dear me I hope they are on to something but just being obsessive about production.

Ok, the fan club is running alright now...
I've put a thread there, discussing if they'll ever perform again... but there aren't too many members...
