Does the court of world opinion consider canadians as bad as americans?

The Canadians are such close allies that we Americans sometimes forget thier even there. we are so close and trusting of each other that we have the longest ungarded border in the history of the world between us. Their lifestyle and customs are so simaler that we would not know we were in another country if the road sign was not there. Do you all lump us together or have you also forgotten they are there?

Does the court of world opinion consider Canadians full stop? Except in the context of Mounties of course.

No.
At the last count;
Number of wars started by Canada - NONE.
Attempts to overthrow legitimate governments by Canada - NONE.

No of course not.
If you've ever travelled in Europe you will see that all the Canadian travellers wear a maple leaf badge or logo somewhere at all times to avoid them being confused with Americans. This is so that they don't get ripped off by the locals.

With all these what's wrong with themes - I've never met a German I didn't like.

I don't think so. Otherwise why would every Canadian I've ever met be so worried about being thought American?

I was discussing tourist spotting with someone at lunch the other day. Two of them americans. They also mentioned how Canadians always wear their flag on them. I'm also guessing to not be thought American.
I have nothing against the Germans I meet in other situations, but when I meet them as tourists they are often quite an annoyance.

Redneck - You'd never know you were there provided you're not in Quebec! Are you sure its the longest unguarded border ever? I'm surprised Russia/China isn't longer (or perhaps that's classed as 'guarded'?) Sorry, trivia mode off.
Best thing about Canada: only nation ever to successfully invade USA and burn its capital to the ground (according to an email doing the rounds a while back).
I too can vouch for the flags-on-bags thing.
So no, the world does not consider Canadians as bad as Americans. Except Celene Dion. (And possibly Bryan Adams.)

Some contention there as this was in the very early days and the actual troops involved were British Troops. Although I believe Canada (or it's earlier name) was coming into being at the time and being given rather a lot more autonomy than the colonies to it's south (for some strange reason ).
Oh well, we burnt their Whitehouse to the ground, they invaded Wales, not much in it really.

Thinking about it, the Celene and Bryan offenses are really rather serious. I think we should consider bombing....

Remember the figure skating debacle at the Salt Lake City Olympic games this year? I checked out a number of foreign news agencies for details and a lot of the time, the Canadian couple wasn't referred to as Canadian but as North American.
It's just one moment in time, but I think that may indicate a bit of lumping by people outside of the US and Canada.

Well, America is the continent so they are technically North Americans. Even thought it was probably just lumping.

No in answer to the subject - maybe because we don't read/hear/see much of the Canadians?
Whenever there's a story about a nutcase in the newspapers, it's usually about an American citizen... the US seems to be a country where you go to the extreme about most things...

I think it is very usual somebody tells about something outrageous happening. The other guy goes "In America right?" and the other goes "Yeah... where else"
